Training and development

In order to ensure the continuous pedagogical and professional development of employees at the University of Ljubljana (UL), we carry out various training. Training and other forms of education take place at the university and UL members, as well as in external organizations. Many training are intended especially for pedagogical workers and researchers, while others are prepared for all categories of employees.

In addition to training in the area of  teaching and learning, which is primarily intended for pedagogical staff, we also provide general training for all employees (communication, organization, leadership, IT, foreign languages, etc.), training for quality research performence, and specific training to meet specific requirements of work processes. We also provide training designed to work with special groups of students and are important for the pedagogical and professional development of higher education teachers and associates (e.g. training for tutors and for working with students with special needs).

Training in the area of learning and teaching

Training in the area of learning and teaching is very important for the development of pedagogical competencies. The great success and interest in the training of the KUL project encouraged support for the continuation of the training from its own resources and the path to a more systematic implementation of training. Training in the area of learning and teaching are mainly carried out within the training for innovative forms of learning and teaching, which are prepared within the project Innovative Learning and Teaching for Quality Careers of Graduates and Excellent Higher Education (INOVUP). We also provide training in the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in the study process, which is carried out within the Digital UL Center. It seeks to promote flexible forms of learning by integrating the didactic use of ICT into the higher education pedagogical process and learning to strengthen digital skills and digital literacy of students and graduates.

Training in the area of the culture of quality

In order to better work together in the work and study process and to monitor and develop the quality of our work, we carry out a training program for the area of the culture of quality. They are intended for pedagogical and non-pedagogical workers. Through training for the culture of quality, we promote culture and the quality system (training for designing measures, training for better self-evaluation of study programs), strengthen competencies for public speaking (rhetoric in Slovene and English), for improved communication and cooperation (conflict resolution), leadership in higher education space. We also added training for personal growth and health (stress management, mindfulness) to the training plan in the area of the culture of quality.
