Self-evaluation of the institution

Business Report with Quality Assurance Report

The regular annual self-evaluation takes place as part of the preparation of the annual Business Report with Quality Assurance Report. The basis for the regular annual self-evaluation is already defined in the annual Work Programme, where the targets of the University in the current period and their operationalisation in the form of measures are set out, and in the annual self-evaluation from the previous self-evaluation period. With this, the University of Ljubljana (UL) implements monitoring and improvement of quality in all areas of the institute’s operation, sufficiency and diversity of resources and financial performance, as defined in Article 6 of the Quality System Rules of the UL.

The Business Report with Quality Assurance Report is drawn up by the University’s professional departments in cooperation with UL member faculties, coordinated by the University offices competent for quality, and is submitted to the relevant University bodies for deliberation. The completed Business Report with Quality Assurance Report is scrutinised by the College of the Rector and the UL Quality Commission, which review the fulfilment of measures by individual area and the identified deficiencies, and together formulate measures for the next self-evaluation period. The UL Quality Commission submits the Business Report with Quality Assurance Report for adoption by the UL Senate, which in turn adopts the report with the stated measures. The report is published each year on the UL website.

The annual report is also sent out for deliberation to the UL Student Council, which submits written responses and presents them orally through its representatives in the UL Quality Commission and UL Senate.

In addition to the Business Report with Quality Assurance Report at the university level, a Business Report with Quality Assurance Report is also compiled and adopted annually by the UL member faculties and the Rectorate.

Evaluation of the Strategy

Among its strategic documents, the UL has the UL Strategy 2022–2027.

The University of Ljubljana Strategy 2022-2027 brings together members of the UL academic community, trade union representatives, and a wide range of external stakeholders in development activities that will help to establish UL as a recognized and established academic institution in Europe.

Annual Work Programme

In the annual Work Programme, the University plans its short-term goals based on the long-term goals defined in the National programme of higher education (only in Slovene) and the strategies adopted by the UL.
