National evaluations and accreditations

With the aim of ensuring and promoting quality, University of Ljubljana (UL) cooperates in the processes of national and international institutional and programme accreditations and evaluations. Cooperation in procedures for accreditation and evaluation in the form of annual reports and one-off studies is monitored by the University department competent for quality. Procedures take place at two levels, namely at the level of the study program and at the level of the entire University. At the level of the study program, an evaluation of a sample of study programmes is carried out every year and every five years in the process of extending the accreditation of the University.

Evaluation of a sample of study programmes

The purpose of these evaluations is to advise the University in developing self-evaluation of study programmes and improving quality. The sample of the evaluation of study programs is determined by the Council of the National Agency of the Republic of Slovenia for Quality Assurance in Higher Education (SQAA).

The SQAA had selected in the sample seven UL study programmes in the period 2018-2020 and twelve UL study programmes in the period 2020-2021. The findings of SQAA were presented in the Analysis of Sample Evaluations of UL Study Programmes.

Evaluation of a sample of study programmes within the re-accreditation of the higher education institution

The process of renewing the accreditation of a university is intended for a comprehensive assessment of the university in the period since the last renewal of accreditation. Progress and development of all areas are assessed, with an emphasis on the internal quality system. The basis for the assessment is a self-evaluation report prepared by the university before the SQAA visit. The report contains an evaluation of all activities of the university with an emphasis on the internal quality assurance of the institution.
